Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is the treatment of injury, disease and disorders through physical methods — such as exercise, massage, manipulation — over medication and surgery. Our physiotherapists are experts in the structure of the human body and its movement. They provide a targeted hands-on approach to treatment, whilst providing a proven rehabilitation program aimed at restoring your body back to optimal function.

What does a physiotherapist do?

  • Dry needling
  • Exercise prescription

How do I access Physiotherapy at Plus Allied Health Group?

You do not require a referral to see a physiotherapist.

Physiotherapy is a private service, meaning that you pay out of pocket for this service. There are a variety of rebates available.

If you have Private Health Insurance, you may be eligible for a physiotherapy rebate depending on your cover. You will need to confirm personally with your health insurer. Please bring your health insurance membership card to your appointment, where it will be swiped through our HICAPS terminal, for an on-the-spot claim with your health fund. You will need to pat the remaining cost of the treatment (the gap) in the clinic.

If you have a chronic condition lasting more than six months requiring physiotherapy you may be eligible for bulk billing with Plus Allied Health Group, for up to five combined sessions per calendar year under the government’s Chronic Disease Management GP services. You’ll need a GP referral addressed to Plus Allied Health Group prior to your first appointment.

If your injury is related to work or a third party accident (CTP), we will require your claim number, your insurer details, date of injury, notice of pre-approval if available and workers certificate of capacity prior to your first appointment.

If you call the clinic, our reception team will be happy to guide you through the process.
